Weekly Job Club and ComputerWorkshops
 
 
"DIGITAL INCLUSION" project was funded by Awards for All Scotland (the Big Lottery Fund). The project offers Job Club and Computer Workshops for people of any age looking for work or basic computer training. They are open to anyone who has difficulties with reading, writing and English language.
 

JOB CLUB

The Job Club sessions run on Friday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Its first meeting  took place on Friday 16th January 2015. The job club is open to migrant workers and people whose first language is not English  living in Falkirk area.
 
The job club works with migrants on every aspect of applying for a job such as making up a CV, job search, completing an application form as well as interview skills.  We help job seekers gain the tools, skills and confidence to step back into employment.
 

We offer tailored employment advice and support primarily focusing on moving towards and into work. To develop employability skills and confidence we offer one to one support with:
    • CV preparation - how to write or update your CV
    • Job searching and application support
    • Universal Job match
    • Volunteering and work placements
    • Mock interviews - how to prepare for a job interview
    • Preparation for employment
    • One-to-one support sessions with our skilled staff for pre-employment support and guidance
    • Meet others looking for work and share job hunting experiences
    • Free access to computers, Internet and other office equipment (e.g. telephone, printer, scanner)
    • Free refreshments, printing, stationery and postage

    COMPUTER WORKSHOPS
     
    The Computer Workshops run on Friday from 13.00am to 15.00pm.
    The workshops are open to migrant workers and people whose first language is not English  living in Falkirk area.
     
     
     
     
     
    What we are offering:
      • One-to-one sessions or small group sessions in a relaxed, informal environment
      • Learn the basics at your own pace
      • Understand the benefits of getting online e.g. how to apply for a job online, go online to book GP appointment, shop and bank online or use Skype to connect with family and friends
      • Learn how to format text files or how to create spreadsheet and working with simple  formulas and functions
      • Learn how to use a range of digital technologies, e.g. smartphones, digital tablets and cameras
      • Improve confidence in using social media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter
       
       
       
      Whether you are a computer novice or looking to update your skills,
      our computer classes can help you learn something new!
